Johanna

SHE IS A FEARLESS RACER AND YOUNG WOMAN WITH A BIG HEART

ABOUT JOHANNA

Johanna may be a rookie in the Nationwide Series but in many respects Johanna is a racing veteran. She started in go kart racing at the age of eight, after begging her Dad for years to get behind the wheel as she watched him race across the southeast in the NASCAR All Pro Division. During her time in karting she won numerous races and championships.

After proving her herself in karting, the young phenomenon with a passion for racing progressed quickly to the Legend Series and then at the young age of 14, began racing in the professional Late Model Stock Car series. In her first year, Long became the first female track champion at the Five Flags Speedway located outside of Pensacola, Florida. At 16, she was traveling throughout the southeast racking up 6 wins, 17 top 5 finishes and 27 top ten finishes in 33 starts.  Her biggest win came later that year as she made her third start in the "Super Bowl" of short track racing the Snowball Derby beating many established names in NASCAR and other racing Series. Johanna is youngest driver and only female to earn that distinction in the history of the Derby.

In 2011 Johanna entered NASCAR driving for her family owned team Panhandle Motorsports. Driving a limited schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, she accumulated several top 20 finishes and a career best finish of 11th place at Texas.

2012 marks the beginning of Johanna's Nationwide Series career with ML Motorsports, driving the No 70 Chevrolet Impala. She has made the history books as the youngest female to race in the Nationwide Series.

Johanna describes herself as a racer....and that's what she is. Her fierce competitive spirit and proven skills has earned her the respect of other drivers and the support of great fans.

She feels strongly about giving back to her fans and young people who have not been as fortunate as she to be supported in their lives.  She often visits schools to talk to kids about following their dreams and passions.
