Johanna Long Meets Adversity in ARCA RE/MAX Debut
Long Marks Race Down as Learning Experience

Unfortunately Long met with some bad luck early in the event. As mechanical difficulties hindered Long’s #25 Karl Chevrolet, she found herself caught up in an altercation with another competitor.
“On lap 12 I lost my brakes and I was trying to keep them coming in,” explained Long. “Then, we lost a lap in the pits. After that I was racing hard with another car when they came across my nose and we both ended up wrecking. At that point we just decided to stay out for points and finished 23rd.”
Despite the tough finish, Long was still enthusiastic about how far she’s come and her future with the series.
“It was such a great learning experience for me. I’ve got the first race over with and I know what to expect in the next one. Now, we’ll just go back to Super Late Models for a while and hopefully I’ll get another chance like this.”
Long will be back in action with her Panhandle Motorsports Super Late Model at the next Blizzard Series event at Five Flags Speedway on August 7th.

Johanna Long made her ARCA RE/MAX Series debut this past weekend at the Iowa Speedway, and after qualifying seventh, she was enthusiastic about her chances at a solid finish with her Venturini Motorsports team. Unfortunately, brake issues hindered her plans for a top-10 finish.
At the start of the day, Long was pleased with her qualifying debut in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
“Qualifying seventh felt pretty good,” said Long. “I got used to the car pretty well, and then qualifying it in seventh was great because I’ve never just jumped in a car and qualified. So, we felt good about that and the car was so good starting off.”
